Hey. I’m Charlie, a 3D Motion Designer based in the West Midlands, UK.
As a Designer, my passion is making reality into art and art into reality.
I see my key strengths, 3D lighting and texturing, as an extension of my passion for photography and the drive to capture the present in new, accessible, attractive forms.
Sometimes this demands working into fictive spaces, especially when working
in 3D and pushing the boundaries of software. More recently, I’ve become fascinated to spend more time in the open, infinite world of Substance Designer.
Sharing this passion, and learning, is a central motive for me too. Since graduating from Nottingham Trent’s Graphic Design course in 2021, I’ve continued to develop my blog, “Interviewing Idols”, which seeks to bring forward ideas and approaches from others working in the field. I’ve also taken on the role of student mentor. This has included guest lectures for Nottingham Trent, Wolverhampton, Wrexham’s Art & Design university courses, with plans to continue this with more talks over 2025.
So - if you’re a tutor looking for a guest talk, send me an email! Or if you’re a student/designer, get in touch via Instagram!
